Eight-laning of Bengaluru-Mysuru highway

The government recently announced that the work on the much delayed, eight-landing of Bengaluru-Mysuru highway will commence in January.
Public works minister Shri. HC Mahadevappa said Union minister of road transport and highways Shri. Nitin Gadkari had responded positively to
the state’s request to expedite work. The project, which seeks to reduce travel time between the two cities to 90 minutes from the current 180, had
hit a roadblock as not many contractors showed interest in it.
