7 Years of Indian Music Experience Museum

7 Years of Indian Music Experience Museum

The Indian Music Experience (IME) Museum marked its seventh anniversary with IME at 7, an unforgettable evening celebrating the power of music to transcend cultures and generations. Held at MLR Cultural Centre, Whitefield, the concert was headlined by violin virtuoso and Padma Vibhushan Dr. L. Subramaniam. He led an extraordinary ensemble of acclaimed musicians in a retrospective of his pioneering global fusion journey. The programme featured celebrated works including selections from Conversations as well as the iconic Surabhi theme, taking audiences on a remarkable musical voyage that reflected IME's own commitment to making Indian music accessible, relevant and inspiring. The evening also marked a historic milestone for the museum. Dr. L. Subramaniam generously donated his violin, a landmark record from his career, and one of his handwritten musical compositions to the Indian Music Experience Museum's permanent collection.

These treasured artefacts will become part of IME's Stars Gallery, further enriching the museum's growing archive of India's musical heritage. The public is invited to witness their official unveiling at the museum on 26 July, as part of IME's Foundation Day celebrations.

CMD'S MESSAGE

A Few Thoughts

Last few months have been tumultuous to the world order. As if the ongoing four-year Russia-Ukraine war is not enough, Israel and the United States have waged a war on Iran, resulting in destabilizing the world to a greater degree. The West Asia war has created havoc in the middle eastern countries, apart from several countries who depend on petroleum oil, particularly India. Our leaders have to intensify the efforts to reduce dependence on imported oil by increasing green power generation and by successfully identifying more sites for oil exploration. The on-again, off-again war has made many economies very volatile and has resulted in huge uncertainty for businesses and industries, apart from pushing up cost of living to the citizens across the world. As non-layers in this ongoing mindless war, we Indians can only hope and pray for normalcy to return soon.
