Restoring a Legacy, Renewing a Promise

Restoring a Legacy, Renewing a Promise

For nearly a century, VV School in Chikmagalur has shaped generations of students who have gone on to excel in public service, education, science, business and many other fields. Recognising the institution's historical and social significance, Brigade Foundation partnered with the School Management to renovate and rejuvenate the campus, ensuring that future generations continue to learn in an environment that is safe, inspiring and worthy of its rich legacy.

The renovated school building was inaugurated on 12 June 2026 in the presence of public representatives, government officials, educators, alumni and members of the local community. The occasion was made especially meaningful by the presence of Mr. M.R. Jaishankar, Chairman, Brigade Group, who returned to his alma mater and reflected on the school's impact on his life, the vision of its founder, Late Sri Annappa Shetty, and the enduring role the institution has played in shaping generations of students and families.

More than a renovation project, this initiative was an effort to preserve an institution that continues to make a meaningful contribution to society. It reflects Brigade Foundation's belief that education remains one of the most powerful catalysts for social transformation and its commitment to strengthening institutions that serve communities over the long term. As VV School enters its second century of service, Brigade Foundation is privileged to have contributed to preserving its legacy while creating a better learning environment for generations to come.

CMD'S MESSAGE

A Few Thoughts

Last few months have been tumultuous to the world order. As if the ongoing four-year Russia-Ukraine war is not enough, Israel and the United States have waged a war on Iran, resulting in destabilizing the world to a greater degree. The West Asia war has created havoc in the middle eastern countries, apart from several countries who depend on petroleum oil, particularly India. Our leaders have to intensify the efforts to reduce dependence on imported oil by increasing green power generation and by successfully identifying more sites for oil exploration. The on-again, off-again war has made many economies very volatile and has resulted in huge uncertainty for businesses and industries, apart from pushing up cost of living to the citizens across the world. As non-layers in this ongoing mindless war, we Indians can only hope and pray for normalcy to return soon.
