Taking the lead on sustainability and self-reliance

Taking the lead on sustainability and self-reliance

A more resilient and sustainable economy depends on the shift that we as a community make. As the world is battling the onslaught of the pandemic, a massive environmental crisis seems imminent. The struggles with the problem of waste management, power deficits and water insufficiency are nothing new. It is heartening to note that in some of our completed project communities, residents are taking the lead towards much-needed sustainability and self-reliance. Here are some inspirational stories across various project sites.

WATER GENERATION AT BRIGADE COSMOPOLIS

To be self-reliant, the residents of Brigade Cosmopolis have opted for Atmospheric Water Generation which condenses moisture from the air to produce drinking water. This project was started on a pilot basis on 1st March’21, to provide water to around 80 of the project’s housekeeping staff.

ORGANIC WASTE CONVERTER AT BRIGADE SPARKLE

Brigade Sparkle

An Organic Waste Converter (OWC) was installed at Brigade Sparkle, one of our completed projects which was inaugurated by the Commissioner of Mysuru, District Health Officer and Area Corporator.

SUNSHINE SAVES BRIGADE PETUNIA `1.5 LAKH MONTHLY

Brigade Petunia

In a first-of-its-kind initiative in Banashankari 2nd Stage, the residents of Brigade Petunia have installed a solar power plant which has cut down their monthly electricity bill significantly. With the installation of 296 solar panels across 9,600 sq.ft. of roof space, Brigade Petunia is now running its entire common area on solar energy, which for the community translates to a saving of 85-90% of electricity cost and a more sustainable way of life.
