A shared vision beyond business

A shared vision beyond business

Brigade Foundation signed an agreement of collaboration with St. John’s Medical College Hospital to begin the construction of a not-for-profit 120-bed-ded hospital at the 60-acre Brigade Meadows Township on Kanakapura Road.

The groundbreaking ceremony was held in the presence of Rev. Dr. Paul Parathazham, Director St John’s Medical College Hospital, Mr. M R Jaishankar, CMD, Brigade Group and Dr Shashidhar, CEO, Brigade Foundation.

Serving in various education, health, community development, and welfare programmes, the Brigade Foundation is an implementation partner that has tied up with various corporates and organizations, such as GoSports Foundation, Bangalore Chamber of Industries and Commerce (BCIC), and so on.

Skill Development and Training
Brigade Foundation in partnership with BCIC have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to set up the ‘Brigade-BCIC Skill Development Academy – a Centre of Excellence’, on a 5-acre land parcel in Aerospace Park, Bangalore North. The Skill Development Academy will focus on the fields of Construction, Hospitality & Tourism, Manufacturing and Retail, to begin with.

The ‘not-for-profit’ initiative aims to make positive contributions to the lives of unemployed and underemployed people, apart from meeting the needs of the sectors. Dr. C N Ashwathnarayan, Minister for Higher Education, Electronics, IT, BT, Science and Technology, Skill Development, Entrepreneurship & Livelihood Department was the Chief Guest at this virtual signing of the MoU.

This is a unique opportunity for Industry and Institutions to work together, to create a skilled workforce and gain more employment opportunities.

Welfare
The Brigade Foundation and GoSports Foundation, both not-for-profit trusts, have joined hands to conceptualise and implement a cricket excellence programme for women cricketers in India under the name ‘Equal Hue Cricket Excellence Programme’.

The programme aims to create pathways for aspiring female cricketers from across the country, by popularising the sport among girls, increasing competitive game time, providing financial assistance and other support for individual needs, and to represent India at a global level.

Education
Chanakya University, a privately run University, approved by the State Government, aims to design and operationalize short and long-term courses on music and related aspects, in a 115-acre space located in Devanahalli

The University’s proposal includes:

  • A school for music, art, dance and heritage
  • A research division – working papers, research monographs and international conferences
  • Establishment of a chair of professorships
  • Established centres of excellence in Indian knowledge systems
  • Support to create world-class infrastructure
  • Scholarships for students

As the University’s proposal is in line with the Foundation’s interests and objectives, we have instituted scholarships for students, which will be named the ‘Brigade Student Scholarship’.
