Guinness Record, 1.5 Million Saplings, One Collective Effort

On 27 June 2026, Bengaluru entered the Guinness World Records by planting the highest number of trees within a 24-hour period. The Bangalore Development Authority (BDA)-led initiative, organised in association with CREDAI Bengaluru as part of the Nadaprabhu Kempegowda Jayanti celebrations, brought together government agencies, corporates, NGOs and thousands of volunteers to plant nearly 15 lakh native saplings across the city, setting a new global benchmark for urban greening.

For Brigade, participation in this landmark effort extended beyond contributing to a world record. It represented another meaningful step in the Group's long-term sustainability journey. As part of its commitment to achieving Net Zero by 2045, Brigade continues to invest in nature-based solutions that strengthen biodiversity, improve urban ecosystems and enhance climate resilience. Over the years, the Group has planted more than two lakh trees across Bengaluru, and this initiative further reinforced that commitment.

Brigade participated in the plantation drive at Shivam Karanahalli Layout in partnership with Blue Dot Foundation, the designated implementation partner responsible for the long-term maintenance and nurturing of the saplings, ensuring that the environmental impact extends well beyond the day of planting.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from employees across the organisation, alongside more than 900 workers from Brigade projects who contributed to the plantation effort across multiple locations. Together, they helped support a citywide initiative that combined community action with a shared commitment to a greener, more climate-resilient Bengaluru.
